The instructions are only for individuals with a direct Internet connection, by modem or network. If you are behind a firewall or proxy server, the information below may not work. Consult your network administrator for more information.

IMPORTANT: Wherever you see mail.yourdomain.com noted, substitute your own domain name for yourdomain.com.

First Time Installation
Adding a mail account
Configuring Eudora - First Time Installation
- Open Eudora.
The Options window will display. If not, click Tools on the menu bar then Options.

- Scroll to the top of the list and Select Getting Started.

- Complete the fields:
- Real Name - The name from which any e-mail sent using this profile will display.
- Return Address - The address from which any e-mail sent will display. This is the address from which you may drop the mail from your domain name. For example: bob@interland.net.
- Mail Server (Incoming) - The mail server your incoming e-mail will go through. Usually mail.yourdomain.com.
- Login Name - Your complete email address - not just the first part before the '@domain.com' part.
- SMTP Server (Outgoing) - Usually the same as you incoming mail server, mail.yourdomain.com.
Note: Some ISP's block the use of outgoing mail servers other than theirs (port 25 block). If you can receive your mail but get an error that the outgoing mail server cannot be found, your IPS is probably blocking port 25. You will need to use your ISP's outgoing mail settings instead. Contact your ISP for instructions.
- Do not check the Allow Authentication box.
- Allow Authentication - Uncheck this box.
- Click OK.
Configuring Eudora - Adding a mail account

The "Persona" window will open on the left side of your screen. Place your mouse in the blank area of the box, making sure it isn't pointing to an entry in the box.
- Right click, choose New
The New Account Wizard will open.
Choose Create a brand new email account and click Next.
- Fill out the forms as follows:
- Personality Name: How you will identify this email account is Eudora.
- Your Name: Enter it as you would like it to show on outgoing mail
- Email address: The exact email address you are adding to Eudora
- Login Name: The user name for this account - usually the part of your email addres before the "@"
- Incoming Server: The name of the POP3 server we provided to you. Usually mail.yourdomain.com. Be sure to identify the server as POP on this screen.
- Outgoing Server: Usually the same as you incoming mail server, mail.yourdomain.com.
Be sure to uncheck the Allow Authentication box on this screen.
- Finished! Click Finish on the next screen and you are all ready to go!
With these basic settings you should be able to retrieve e-mail from the name mailbox by selecting Check Mail from the File menu. These instructions were generated using version 5 for Windows XP/2000/ME/98/95/NT. Menus may be slightly different if you are using a different version.
